We are eagerly preparing for our Arxangel x Karera litter that is due mid February 2019. Producing a litter of puppies takes a lot of time, money, and sometimes heartache. Preparations for our litters generally start years before the litter is actually produced. We have spent numerous hours researching pedigrees and talking with other breeders in order to find combinations that produce not only correct dobermans with great temperaments but also healthy dobermans that will be a part of the family for the next 10+ years. Right now the breed is in jeopardy with an almost 50% chance of a dog developing DCM in it's lifetime. No one knows the inheritance of DCM and no breeder can claim that their lines are DCM free. No line is DCM free. We are doing our best to research pedigrees, complete health screening, choose lines with longevity, lower the amount of inbreeding in our lines, and to be a part of the solution to the health problems in our breed.
You will see that we are working on importing new blood and our dogs are no longer only European. We are still working to preserve certain qualities of the European doberman- substance, the gorgeous heads, temperament, working drive but we are also adding in a few things lacking in those lines. We hope to increase diversity, health, refinement and produce a dog that can not only be competitive in the show ring but that also has the working drive and temperament for bite work. We generally produce litters for ourselves, meaning, we try to improve with each generation and produce a puppy that we would like to keep for show and/or work. This year we are only planning 1, maybe 2 litters if everything works out. We generally do not make profit off of litters as all puppy money is invested in titling and health testing our dogs. We do have successful careers and often have to take time from our jobs when we have litters. Breeding is not a money making business, we do it for love of the breed. We love seeing our puppies give joy to their families and seeing our show/working puppies succeed in the ring/trials.

AuthorWe are a doberman preservation breeder, breeding for conformation and working temperament. We participate in AKC and working events and do health testing on all of our adults prior to breeding. We do not mass produce and generally do have a wait list for all of our litters. We do work with new breeders who are interested in improving the breed. Archives
